Yoga in Pregnancy

Practicing yoga during pregnancy will help increase comfort, facilitate and ease labor, and aid in postpartum recovery. Gentle postures are practiced to tone and strengthen muscles essential for childbirth. A strong emphasis on the breath facilitates relaxation and the ability to let go in labor. Classes offer tools for transformation and a deeper connection to inner strength.

"Breathing is emotionally tied to your ability to relax and your power to accomplish. Physiologic breathing delivers enough to the mother to fuel her efforts and to the baby to ensure a healthy passage."

— Dr. William Sears,The Birth Book

“Twenty-four years ago, when pregnant with my son Eli, I had been doing yoga for 2 years. I wanted to have the healthiest pregnancy I could and intuitively felt that yoga would be a great asset - along with good nutrition and good prenatal care with a midwife. My own experience of pregnancy and birth was greatly enhanced by the practice of prenatal yoga, and inspired me to share this with other pregnant moms."

Couples Yoga

Practicing yoga together is a powerful tool for deeper connection in relationships. It facilitates an exchange of energy in more than just the obvious sexual way. Touch is a core component of any romantic relationship. Being a comfortable uniting force between lovers, this concentrated touch helps two individuals to become one. Couples yoga postures move this union beyond the physical to the spiritual plan, blending the partner’s energy through concentrated touch.

Individual Sessions

One on one yoga instruction focuses on the individual’s needs. A tailor made series has many benefits. Assistance in specific postures can aid rehabilitation for injuries and provide relief from chronic pain. The focus on the individual’s body patterns facilitates the opening of structural tightness, achieving results more rapidly.
